Computer Mock Test 2 (PAID)

🏆 Scholarship test ✓ Free Class 10 Computer

About this test

Networking is the first chapter of the computer paper, and this test checks whether the basics are clear. You will practise the types of network (नेटवर्क के प्रकार): PAN, LAN, MAN and WAN, then match each device to its job: router, modem (मॉडेम), hub, repeater and Wi-Fi. A few questions on bus and star topology (टोपोलॉजी) test how devices are connected, and others cover IP and MAC addresses and data speed in bps. Attempt it after reading the chapter, and use the explanations (व्याख्या) to remember which network covers which area.

What this test covers

  • Types of network: PAN, LAN, MAN, WAN (नेटवर्क के प्रकार)
  • Internet as a WAN example
  • Router, modem, hub and repeater (राउटर, मॉडेम, हब)
  • Network topologies: bus and star (टोपोलॉजी)
  • IP address and MAC address (आईपी एड्रेस)
  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth: wireless networks
  • Data transfer speed: bits per second (bps)

Questions students ask

What is the difference between LAN, MAN and WAN?

LAN covers a building, MAN covers a city, and WAN covers a very large area such as the whole country.

What is a PAN?

It is a very small network, like a phone connected to a laptop through Bluetooth.

What does a router do?

It connects different networks and sends data to the right place.

What does a modem do?

It changes digital signals to analog signals and back, so data can travel over a telephone line.

What is the difference between bus and star topology?

In bus topology all devices share one cable, and in star topology all devices connect to one central device like a switch.

How is data transfer speed measured?

It is measured in bits per second (bps).
