Questions students ask

What is a proper adjective?

A proper adjective is formed from a proper noun and is capitalised, for example Indian from India. Proper adjectives describe origin, languages, religions, or specific names and always match the capitalization of the source noun.

How to form comparative and superlative adjectives?

Use -er and -est for short adjectives (tall → taller → tallest) and more/most for longer ones (beautiful → more beautiful → most beautiful); memorise irregulars like good → better → best and bad → worse → worst.

Difference between adjective and adverb?

An adjective (विशेषण) modifies a noun or pronoun, while an adverb modifies a verb, adjective, or another adverb. Ask ‘Which?’ or ‘What kind?’ for adjectives and ‘How/When/Where/To what extent?’ for adverbs to choose correctly.

How to avoid common errors in comparison questions?

First decide if you compare two (comparative) or more than two (superlative); never use double comparatives (more better), match form to adjective length, and check irregular forms from a memorised list.
